A SUNDAY IN FEBRUARY

Tiffany is very sick with a strep infection. Paul took the kids to the Monster Truck Rally at the Pepsi Center. Kurt is at Church and I am the designated "at home nurse". It is great as I have caught up on my Book of Mormon reading and get to listen to some music Tiff gave me. It is very relaxing. Usually when I listen to music, my mind goes to work analysing chord structures and progressions. Sort of takes the fun out of it. But this is not the case today. It has been a great week at work. I love the sisters I work with. Plus we are sharing a ton of ideas for dinner parties etc. Everyone is on the band wagon. I ordered this cookbook, that is really more than an ordinary cookbook, from "The Gathering of Friends" website. Took it to work and everyone was just goin' nuts over it. Lisa took it home to use some of the recipes for her dinner party this coming Friday night. Thinking about cooking and sharing with friends has become a very focused idea for us. We are looking forward to our next gathering on Feb 28th. We will post pictures and recipes.

BACK TO WORK

It was back to work for me this past week. Where did all of those vacation days go? It was nice to be back in the Center. For those who aren't aware, I work for Distribution Services for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The sisters that work with me are : Denice Floyd, Sharon Amberry, Lisa Clark, Nan Call, and Joyce Chesney is our "on call" gal. Today I got to go to the Woodhouse Spa in Lone Tree. It is about 10 minutes from our home. My oh my.....totally relaxed and feel like a whole new girl. The woman that worked on me is named Anna. I had some kind of 90 min. facial. It feels so good....I wish it could erase the years but none the less, it feels great. She taught me things and old dogs and bears really do need to learn new tricks. When Kurt wakes up from his nap, we are going to dinner at Rio Grande. We have never been but I spied it today while walking towards the spa. We are starting to put some ideas out for our next dinner party on Feb 28th. I think it will be an Italian one. Need to work on the ideas and check out Maggies Dinner Dates for some more ideas.

Time To Blog

The Home Teachers just left and Kurt went with them to Stake Priesthood Meeting. We love Brs. Stanworth and Cowden. Great men and fun to be around. I have been trying to upload a darling picture of Tiffany and Anna. And will need to have Tiff help as there seems to be a glitch. We have decided February 28th is the next Kammeyer Party. We are following the ideas from Maggie's Dinner Dates...you need to see her blog. This party will be an indoor BBQ Anna has agreed to babysit so things will all go smoothly. Life is good....now if I can just upload this photo of Tiffany and Anna

Summer Time

It has been 2.5 months since I did any blogging. So here is the catch up: We made it thru the Demo National Convention, The Rockies are five games out from being in the Wild Card, The USA Basketball team won their gold medal and of course Michael Phelps got some of the gold.
I had two stents put into my arteries on July 24th. I have decided that there can be no surgeries on Church Holidays. April 6th 2007:Brain Surgery; July 24th Pioneer Day and heart surgery. I am feeling wonderful. It has taken about 6 weeks for me to feel this good. But it is worth the wait. Exercise is now my friend. I have signed up for four days a week of water fitness classes. I love to swim so this should be great.
Above is a picture of my sweet brother in law Karl's handiwork. He is a violin maker and a very good one at that. The one that is pictured is for sale and you can just leave a comment in blog and let us know how to contact you.

DURANGO/MESA VERDE

We had a blast these last three days. Kurt and I drove to Durango . Thursday was wonderful. The scenery was gorgeous and the drive pleasant. Durango, for those who don't know is a little town, kind of like St. George only greener. They have a WalMart, no Target, but a great little historic downtown district. Friday we went to Mesa Verde which for me, was an extremely religious and awe inspiring adventure. You have to really want to see this place because it takes a while to drive up the mountain and then hike down to the ruins. We saw only two but they were spectacular. Today we drove back and it took us almost 8 hours. Two and half hours were spent getting from Durango to Silverton....whatta road...kind of white knuckle drive. But we had fun. Here are the pictures.
