Summer Time

It has been 2.5 months since I did any blogging. So here is the catch up: We made it thru the Demo National Convention, The Rockies are five games out from being in the Wild Card, The USA Basketball team won their gold medal and of course Michael Phelps got some of the gold.
I had two stents put into my arteries on July 24th. I have decided that there can be no surgeries on Church Holidays. April 6th 2007:Brain Surgery; July 24th Pioneer Day and heart surgery. I am feeling wonderful. It has taken about 6 weeks for me to feel this good. But it is worth the wait. Exercise is now my friend. I have signed up for four days a week of water fitness classes. I love to swim so this should be great.
Above is a picture of my sweet brother in law Karl's handiwork. He is a violin maker and a very good one at that. The one that is pictured is for sale and you can just leave a comment in blog and let us know how to contact you.

DURANGO/MESA VERDE

We had a blast these last three days. Kurt and I drove to Durango . Thursday was wonderful. The scenery was gorgeous and the drive pleasant. Durango, for those who don't know is a little town, kind of like St. George only greener. They have a WalMart, no Target, but a great little historic downtown district. Friday we went to Mesa Verde which for me, was an extremely religious and awe inspiring adventure. You have to really want to see this place because it takes a while to drive up the mountain and then hike down to the ruins. We saw only two but they were spectacular. Today we drove back and it took us almost 8 hours. Two and half hours were spent getting from Durango to Silverton....whatta road...kind of white knuckle drive. But we had fun. Here are the pictures.

THE STOTTS

This is our family friends, Rolinda and Ammon Stotts home. We spent Mother's Day with them and had a wonderful time. If you love art, check out http://www.rolindastotts.com/. Very cool.
The art on the wall is Rolinda's. They look bored don't they? But what great friends. The kids playing the violin and cello are Elena/cello, Brindisi and Dane violin

WHO KNOWS???

It is Spring time in the Rockies, complete with tornados, hail, sunny hot days... you name it and we have had it. For Kurt's Birthday, which is June 10th, one of his presents will be musical. Karl, Kurt's eldest brother is a wonderful violin maker and Kurt has the very first instrument Karl ever made. Right now, it is in the repair shop being cleaned and strung and having new hairs put on the bow. We pick it up on Monday.
